There was a voice… Alice’s voice, at times clear and crystalline like childhood, at others tinged with the gentle cracks of melancholy.

The story begins in Belgium, where the singer-songwriter’s distinctive tone and enchanting style have made a mark over the past decade and soared to the top of the charts. When Alice on the Roof sings, she possesses the magic of the Scandinavian pop greats who inspire her: from Sigur Rós to Lykke Li, from Emilie Nicolas to Agnes Obel. It is no coincidence that the Belgian government called upon her to compose an anthem celebrating marriage equality: “The Right Words.” The pink-haired artist always finds the right words behind her piano, when they elude her in the city... At thirty, eager to overcome her shyness, this now indispensable figure of Belgian pop lifts the final veil of modesty: her new album is the first written entirely in her mother tongue, French. A rebirth, named as a matter of course : Alice.
