Musiques Sauvages • Making a Living from Your Art: A Practical Guide

The Workshop

Open to women and gender minorities.

Money and Autonomy

You can master your instrument, your voice, and your project, yet still feel helpless when it comes to numbers. The financial aspect of an artistic career is as much a source of freedom as it is a source of constraints. This workshop offers a pragmatic, jargon-free approach to navigating it. Participants will leave with a tool to create a budget for their first production or concert.
Workshop Objectives:

Understand your status as a freelance artist and the social security funds for freelance workers
Balance your finances between your professional and personal life
Learn how to create a budget for a performance or concert
Determine the fair value of your work and have the confidence to defend it
