No one could have imagined the path hardcore would take in its early days. And in the 2000s, no one could have guessed that a band like Terror would still be one of the most influential in the subgenre, 24 years after its debut. Their aggression, combined with a love and admiration for this scene that so many people had been a part of and then left—or even completely forgotten—has allowed them to endure. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, at a time when hardcore needed a band to set things straight as the genre was losing its way, Terror burst onto the scene, immediately made their mark, and never let go.
With Still Suffer, their tenth album, released last April on Flatspot Records, Terror collaborated with producer (and former guitarist) Todd Jones to create ten fast, aggressive, and hard-hitting tracks that revisit the themes that have shaped the band since its early days. Songs about personal empowerment, survival, and an unwavering determination to face challenges head-on, thanks to the values and support found within this scene.
Since its inception, Terror has never turned its back on what has fueled its vitality from the very beginning. With the release of Still Suffer, it’s clear that the band has no intention of slowing down, successfully continuing its mission: to deliver hardcore that stays true to itself and to show the whole world that it’s about much more than just music. This community and this movement—which no one can truly describe in words—are precisely the source of energy that drives Terror and allows it to continue to grow and evolve.
“Forever doesn’t change, you’re damaged just like me.”
