For almost 30 years, Nada Surf have been part of the soundtrack to our lives, with Let Go in 2002, then The Weight Is a Gift in 2005. The same goes for the songs on their albums The Proximity Effect, Lucky, The Stars Are Indifferent to Astronomy, and Never Not Together. When it comes to power pop, where haughty guitars and heady choruses perpetuate the best of Nirvana, Big Star and Jason Falkner, New York trio Nada Surf are as relentlessly consistent and impeccable as a long-time friend to whom you remain eternally loyal and to whom you always return, no matter what life throws at you.

Moon Mirror, Nada Surf's new album, contains everything fans love and expect: bittersweet anthems that start quietly but explode into searing harmonies? Yes. Songs that pack a punch to the heart? Yes. Poetic, thought-provoking songs that are absolute masterpieces to sing along to? Yes !

Moon Mirror is an exciting and moving leap forward for Nada Surf. The songs on the album are true to the human experience, as meaningful, mysterious and sometimes absurd. There's love, yes, but also grief, deep loneliness, doubt, wonder and hope. There's a hard-won wisdom here, the kind that comes from falling down and getting up again.

Joseph Arthur

An American singer and one of the most exciting voices in contemporary folk-rock, Joseph Arthur is also renowned for his talent as a painter. He is preparing the release of his new album, and will be in France in September, a place close to his heart. It's a great love affair between the musician and France, the first country to welcome his music and his first concerts. With his guitar and pedals, the musician constructs live, swirling, spellbinding melodies that also leave room for stripped-down, unadorned tracks, inhabited solely by the singer's voice.

Spotted by Peter Gabriel in 1996, the artist now has some fifteen albums to his name. He is also the founder of a number of bands: The Lonely Astronauts, Fistful Mercy, which he founded alongside Ben Harper, and RNDM with Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam. Joseph Arthur draws his inspiration from Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Jeff Buckley. The finesse of his compositions and the richness of his orchestrations make him one of today's top American songwriters. His song “In the Sun” has been covered by Michael Stipe of R.E.M, Chris Martin of Coldplay and Peter Gabriel. An album and EP by his band Silverlites, made up of Peter Buck (REM), Rich Robinson (Black Crowes) and Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees), have recently been released, and the album by Arthur Buck, his band with Peter Buck, will be out in the autumn.
