THE TACT

A band founded in 2022 by Nicolas and Charles Germain, a father-son duo who form an explosive guitar-and-drums combination. The Tact writes original songs marked by Charles’s unique creativity on guitar, bass, and vocals. What sets the band apart is Charles’s youth (he’s 16), which contrasts with the maturity of his music. Based in Corbelin (38), The Tact delivers a tense and energetic blend of garage rock and fusion, tinged with punk and funk influences, exploring a musical spectrum ranging from Iggy and The Stooges to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The lyrics, written in English by Nicolas, address current social issues with a pronounced sense of sarcasm. In live performances, Charles uses an Octaver pedal and a bass amp to complement his guitar.

Producing powerful and sincere rock, their performances are reminiscent of the styles of Jack White, The Black Keys, or even The Inspector Cluzo, with a strong garage rock energy. The Tact was selected by the talent scouting and support program La Cuvée Grenobloise 2026. The band released their second EP, *Fizzy Life*, on February 13, 2026, supported by the Ferarock radio network. With this second release, the duo further asserts its identity and its taste for eclectic and electrifying rock, tackling social issues from a political angle, in the purest punk-rock tradition. It is this blend that makes The Tact’s music so captivating. By blending retro and contemporary elements within the same space, they create a memorable and unique sound.
