The Ukandanz cocktail has proven itself over the past fifteen years with an explosive formula that has never stopped evolving, whether on stage or in the studio. The ancient rhythms of Ethiopia are always shaken up by garage rock and libertarian jazz… To those who wonder if the heart of the swinging Addis scene of the 1960s still beats, we know exactly who’s pulling the strings !

The essence of this modern trance machine lies in the Ethiopian soul… Ukandanz contains two fundamental elements that are uniquely its own: the elastic voice of Asnake Gebreyes, one of the leading figures of the current Addis Ababa scene, as well as the compositions and arrangements of Damien Cluzel, a free-spirited electronic musician never more at ease than in musical crossovers. Together, they point the way south to a pack of musicians ready to shake up the journey between France and Ethiopia a little more. They all love getting lost at the crossroads and finding themselves in the detours… Lacking direction, they have a sense of the epic!
