Fred Wesley Trio

A few decades after his work with James Brown and George Clinton, which established him as one of the pioneers of funk, Fred Wesley has launched a new project that connects him to his jazz roots and to the future: Generations.

Generations is an evolving trio comprising Fred Wesley on trombone, Leonardo Corradi on organ, and French drummer Tony Match. These three musicians initially came together to pay tribute to the soulful jazz of the legendary Jimmy Smith. They have now found a harmony and continue to play together.

Their show combines Wesley’s talent and experience, Corradi’s energetic take on Smith and other historic jazz giants, as well as Match’s jazz drumming, tinged with unique influences from African rhythms and electronic sounds.
