More than just a celebration, this evening is a tribute to a heritage that is often invisible - yet very much alive - and an opportunity to honor those who have transformed struggle into art, resistance into culture, and transmission into collective power.

The evening will begin with a lecture hosted by Barbara Estrozi, who will trace the history of capoeira, the place of women in this discipline and more broadly in Afro-Brazilian culture, the oppression and prejudice associated with the practice, and conclude with an introduction to samba.

To end the day with dancing, there will be a women's roda with the Samba de Lua and Maria Luma project (artist accompanied by La Belle)!
A true musical gathering, the roda de samba invites musicians and amateurs to come together to sing and play in a festive and friendly atmosphere. Despite its warm image, samba remains a historically male-dominated environment. But times are changing as a new generation of female artists is embracing this tradition and redefining its codes: the “Samba de Lua” project is part of this movement. Adorned with their most beautiful voices, flowers, and sequins, they form a female samba roda.

A festive, inclusive, and liberating moment, where samba is experienced and shared without borders!
