PORTALEGRIA is a samba pagode band based in Grenoble since 2017.
Pagoda is a popular Brazilian musical style that invites singing and dancing. It originated in the favelas and backyards of Rio de Janeiro in the late 1970s, and uses instruments equivalent to but less noisy than those of the batucada (percussion ensemble).
Today, the group is enriched by new influences such as samba-rock, samba-funk and Northeastern rhythms like forro and baião.
Come and dance to the infectious joy of our musicians!

Son of a pastor from Ipanema, the Carioca João Selva is "one of the best ambassadors of Brazilian music" according to France Culture. But that's not all... his musical universe, full of sunshine and abundance, spans a wide range of musical influences: from Angolan semba to Cape Verdean funaná, from Caribbean zouk to Congolese rumba - João Selva's music channels the musical pulse of the Black Atlantic. In the purest (im)Brazilian tradition, he also digests the contribution of North American music and freely incorporates elements from elsewhere into the irresistible rhythms of Brazil. The result is an invigorating machine for dancing and dreaming, updating the tropical revolution of the 70s with a turbulent mix of samba, soul, jazz and funk.

Sabor a Mi (Sophie Legay Peñaloza) is a romantic soul with boundless energy, lots of love and a way of appreciating the present moment as if it were her last. These traits soon brought her into contact with music, and she became a dj/selector, sharing with the world the way she feels about music.
Raised between Mexico and France, her proposals cross several continents thanks to her selection of organic and electronic Afro-Latin rhythms.
Her reunion with Mexican bolero and the discovery of salsa and African music were the triggers for the start of her career, where she found all her inspiration. From then on, she became passionate about the history of this music, investigating more and more every day and drawing inspiration from everything around her.
For Sabor a Mi, rhythm knows no eras or borders. She seeks out the paths that link music and dance, and above all the pleasure of sharing.
