The year 2025 is shaping up to be an exceptional one for The Limiñanas: Lionel and Marie have revealed details of their European tour, and will perform in Paris for the first time at the Olympia on Thursday, April 10! The duo also unveiled the hypnotic single Prisoner of Beauty on 23.10.24, and have announced a new series of dates in France.
The Limiñanas are an essential rock couple, always driven by a deep-seated desire to draw us into their world of sixties rock and psychedelia, imbued with a cinematic aesthetic reminiscent of the great hours of Italian cinema.©DR
There's no mythology to summon, no ghosts of the past to recall, no flames to rekindle. Only one duel remains: that between lukewarm music and the instinctive, pure music that comes from the soul and heals personal chaos.
This is the second path taken by David Shaw, an artist for whom there is no plan B or compromise, just the need to set his guts on fire with a record that is one of the most personal and searing on the scene today. Born in Manchester and branded by the counter-cultures that collided in his adolescence (rave, punk, garage), Shaw's only profession of faith is to create music that is outside the beaten track. He has produced electronic music under the alias Siskid, played on Blackstrobe's Burn Your Own Church (Beggars, 2007), and collaborated with Jennifer Cardini and Vitalic. He went independent under the name David Shaw And The Beat, whose album So It Goes gracefully blended techno and new wave, and founded the group DBFC, author of a jewel of synthetic rock with baggy, madchester echoes. A punk at heart, an iconoclast of club music, David Shaw has digested his influences, distancing himself from musical chapels and the very notion of crossover. His music resonates like the man himself, nourished by self-sacrifice and a fierce refusal of artistic half-heartedness.
His strong, all-encompassing aesthetic universe also appeals to the fashion world, with his tracks regularly accompanying brands and designers such as Ami, Chanel, Gucci, Lanvin, Pressiat and Solène Lescouët.
Emotional, proud and clever, David Shaw's writing took a new turn with the release in 2020 of the album Love Songs With a Kick Vol.1, a collection of racy tracks between up-to-the-minute synth-pop, alley-cat post-punk and apocalyptic crooning.
