With his new project ‘BAZAARI’ (which comes from the Farsi/Persian word for bazaar), Iranian-born musician Arash Sarkechik delivers a repertoire of ‘nomadic’ songs with colourful arrangements and a certain festive spirit.
Persian, Middle Eastern and North African sounds blend with powerful contemporary grooves to create a festive and poetic bazaar!
In a duo with Somar Al Nasser on the oud, surrounded by his machines, instruments and loopers, he adapts the repertoire to suit the venue and audience.
Improvisations, electro flights of fancy and oriental trances are all part of an energetic, even frenzied set that he has christened ‘Bladi Sound System’.
