LA GUINGUETTE ÉLECTRIQUE WORKSHOPS

Libère ton moov' | Female Dancehall

Dancehall is a culture born in Jamaica in the 90s, out of a context of social resistance to the inequalities inherited from colonialism. More than just parties, dancehall events are places of gathering, expression and liberation for communities. Through this workshop, enter the world of female dancehall to respond to a collective need for resistance, freedom and celebration!

A powerful and resolutely feminine expression of Jamaican dancehall, female dancehall places the pelvis, sensual energy and self-confidence at the heart of the movement. With Chocolate Remix dancers Iris Yum Yum & Pum Pum, come and dance without judgment, free your bodies and reconnect with others. There's no performance here, just the pleasure of moving and taking your place.

Female dancehall makes no apologies for existing. And neither should you.
  • 5.30pm to 7pm
  • From age 15 - Mixed (women, non-binary people and gender minorities)
  • Open to beginners.
