ABA SHANTI-I (UK)
ABA SHANTI I started in the music business very early. In the 80's, he was the MC of the famous Jah Tubby's Soud System, under the pseudo of Jasmine Joe, spreading his conscious lyrics, despite the rise of ragga. Then, very quickly, he discovers the Rastafarian movement, emancipates himself and becomes ABA SHANTI. At the same time, he created his own sound system of the same name to play his first tunes at the Leicester Carnival in 1990. In 1995, he launched his label, Falasha Recordings and released 6 albums (including "Wrath Of Jah", "Pure Spirit", or "Jah Lightning & Thunder"...). Famous for his sound system (one of the most important of the international dub scene), his presence each year, during the Carnival of Notting Hill, (London) remains a passage impossible to circumvent for the amateurs of dub and conscious sounds of the whole world. Nowadays, he is the undisputed pioneer of the English dub scene, like his acolytes Mad Professor and Adrian Sherwood, with a steppa sound (permanent kick like techno), percussive and dancing, close to the rave energy.

EARL 16
Earl Daley, better known as Earl 16, was born in Kingston and began his singing career by winning a singing contest in the early 1970s. He then formed his own group, The Flaming Phonics, and began touring around the island, opening for artists such as Big Youth, Mighty Diamonds, Burning Spear, Boris Gardiner (of the Heptones) Happening Band. It is this last one who introduces him and allows him to record for the biggest producers of the moment.
In 1981, he meets the Original Michael "Dread At The Control - Mikey Dread" Campbell who allows him to record his first album "Reggae Sounds" and opens the doors of the United Kingdom. He then continues the sessions in the studios and signs in 1985 a huge hit with the title " Love is a feeling ", taken from the album Showcase, at the mythical Studio One, of Sir Coxsone.
Installed in London, since 1987, EARL 16, continues to record for English producers such as Mad Professor ("Babylon Walls") in 1992 or Gussie P. He founds his own label "Merge Prod", and collaborates with contemporary producers of Dance such as Leftfield and pop groups such as Simply Red, whose cover of "Holding Back The Years" remains the biggest hit. He then released 2 albums on WEA which closed the 90s.
Attacking the new millennium with a vengeance, he produced under his label the album Wondrous Works as well as multiple productions throughout Europe. This album, composed of 16 tracks, compiles the best roots productions of the artist, from his beginnings in the 70's, to the 80's. This album has become a must-have for all roots fans, as well as for those who don't know EARL 16. It allows you to discover this veteran singer with a slightly hoarse voice, who celebrated his 30th anniversary in 2003.
