Ben l'Oncle Soul
Do you still see him dressed in a sixties suit, proclaiming that he's just a soulman? Logical, given the way this great lover of Afro-American music has managed to thrill the whole of France by prolonging the timeless magic of Stax, Motown and consorts. But that was over ten years ago. And while Ben will always be proud of that whirlwind start, there was never any question of settling for the same recipe. It's his passion for voices, melodies and grooves that grab you and carry you along that has guided his inhabited timbre along a path all his own. His second album with the sparkling Californians of Monophonics, an audacious tribute to Sinatra and, above all, a natural desire to broaden his horizons.

LWANBÉ
LWANBÉ emerges like a magmatic force in the musical ocean: it's the hip-hop eruption of fonnkèr, "bottom of the heart": Reunionese state of mind and poetry. Sailing on ternary rhythms, deep bass and electronic arpeggios, his lyrics tell us about human erosion and the inner cyclones that drive us.
It's a gentle anger with the sounds of neo-rad kréol, anchoring its steps in the heaviness of roulèr and rising to the bounce of kayamb: the traditional instruments of maloya - the music of Réunionese slaves - meet contemporary electronic textures, 808 kicks and synthesizers, creating a bold, lively fusion. His music, as changeable as the island's climate, blends the intimate and the political, and bows to the wind of its rawest emotions.LWANBÉ embodies a committed voice, defying convention with sincerity and boundless creativity, and stands out as a force for change, ready to shape the musical landscape with vulnerability and conviction.
Accompanied by her kayamb, LWANBÉ, an insular and insubordinate artist, sculpts new music from the power of maloya, wrapping it sometimes in immersive polyphonic waves, sometimes in an incisive rap flow in kréol.
