Ladaniva, the group led by the talented vocalist Jaklin Baghdasaryan and French multi-instrumentalist Louis Thomas, creates world music of rare richness that weaves together the soundscapes of all their travels. Blending traditional Armenian music with Balkan sounds, from maloya to reggae, their music transcends folklore to forge a unique and explosive identity: that of Ladaniva.
This was followed by global hits such as “Kef Chilini,” which has become an anthem sung at every celebration in the Armenian diaspora and has amassed over 26 million views on YouTube, “Shakar,” their tangy pop hit, and “Jako,” which was performed in front of tens of millions of viewers at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest, where Ladaniva represented Armenia.
