Gilla Band
Bringing order to chaos, sanctifying tension—that could be the mantra of Gilla Band, whose sound would fit right in the corridors of a brutalist gallery. Four years after the album “Most Normal,” the Dublin-based quartet is releasing the single “Giraffe” today and, in the same breath, announcing two concerts in France, including one on January 20, 2027, at the Trabendo in Paris.
For more than ten years now, Gilla Band—composed of singer Dara Kiely, guitarist Alan Duggan Borges, bassist Daniel Fox, and drummer Adam Faulkner—has been redefining what might loosely be called “rock” in the 21st century, influencing a whole wave of equally avant-garde guitar-driven bands along the way. The band has perfected a vision that is neither quite post-punk nor quite noise rock—a unique and revolutionary hybrid sound that could only have come from these four musicians.
