GA-20
Their name, it's worth remembering, is the reference to a fifties Gibson 20 W combo amp favored by all the greats from Earl Hooker to Hound Dog Taylor, Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry. In two albums, Lonely Soul (2019) and GA-20 Does Hound Dog Taylor (2021), the young trio has exploded onto the international scene. But there's no question of them doing the same thing twice, or allowing themselves to be trapped in a hypothetical Chicago Blues cliché. With Crackdown (2022), Matt Stubbs, Pat Faherty and Tim Carmen have moved towards a more garage than blues side, an amalgam of bar-room country and rock, as heard in Tennessee or Louisiana. High energy with traditional inspiration: it's about time!

AL PEAL COMBO
AL Peal Combo is a garage soul band from Grenoble led by singer AL Peal. Formed by musicians who are passionate about the codes of classic soul, the group has nevertheless emancipated itself from this influence by asserting a rockier, wilder and more modern identity. The lyrics are sometimes about solitude, love and moods. Sometimes more primal, they emanate a mysticism imbued with cosmic symbols and mysteries. Their debut album, Release the Combo, was released on May 8, 2022.
