Wallace Cleaver
A different kind of music, for a different setting. Hailing from the Loir-et-Cher region, Wallace Cleaver takes a step back from French rap while remaining a worthy heir to the genre. Driven by introspective lyrics that chronicle the journey of a small-town kid conquering the City of Light, his work is infused with nostalgia and ambition, budding relationships, and those we try in vain to forget.
Wallace Cleaver is accompanied by the music of his partner PR, a pianist whose sounds are at times dreamy and airy but also heavy and brutal when urgency must be conveyed. The artist does not limit himself to rap influences; while already navigating its various subgenres and rhythms, he also explores the realms of song, pop, and spoken word when the need arises.
With Marcel, his new project, Wallace Cleaver delivers a seismic album, an intimate explosion in which he captures the simultaneous blossoming of musical fulfillment and personal incompleteness.
