The tour manager is the main partner in the live development of a musical artist. They can also be show producers, fully involved in the creation and financing of live shows (residencies, set design, lighting design...). This training course will introduce you to the workings and working methods of this key player in today's music industry, with the aim of applying them to your structure or facilitating collaboration with this professional partner.

The environment and legal framework of the entertainment entrepreneur

• Mapping the music sector : economic flows and trade, relationships between the various players in the music industry.
• The different professions involved in live performance in the music industry: producer, tour manager, broadcaster, etc.
• Show business licenses (cat 1, 2, 3)
• Entertainment contracts: engagement/assignment contract, co-production, service provider, etc
• Different types of venues and distribution networks : SMAC, festivals, cafés-concerts...

The job of the show entrepreneur: relationship with the artist and setting up a tour

• Advantages and benefits of working with a producer/tour operator
• Deal and negotiation between partners (study of distribution agreements)
• Identification of needs, constraints, strengths and weaknesses of the show to be created and/or distributed
• Calculation of costs and ideal transfer price
• Tour budget management, deciphering the prodliner
• Various grants and subsidies : CNM, ADAMI, SPEDIDAM, FONPEPS, CISV, etc.
