Just like the tangle of multicolored cables spilling out of their modular synths, Jasmine Not Jafar firmly believe that two people can make a crowd! While their “brat girl power” attitude and fight against patriarchy permeate their music, it would be far too simplistic to pigeonhole them into such narrow categories.

The duo’s live techno is made for the party—the kind that brings together Charlie XCX, Cobrah, and Coucou Chloé, badass idols with whom they share a love for defiant kicks and rebellious bass. Their voices, blended with synths, will leave you with no choice but to let your body go wild, completely lost under their powerful spell.

Goupile

Goupile’s music exists in an imaginary space, somewhere between the intimacy of a bedroom and the communal atmosphere of the dance floor. Drawing on improvisations on her modular synthesizer—an analog companion with which she converses—she composes music where electronic and organic elements, wind instruments, and field recordings come together. Reflecting her passion for electronic, experimental, and modal music linked to trance and dance, her first EP, “La Mer Intérieure,” was released in October 2023, followed by the track “Ce jour là.”

On stage, she seeks a balance between unpredictable and improvised music, and repetitive and repeated music, to draw us deeper and deeper into intimate realms.

OP.16

OPUS 16 explores the points of friction between heritage and the future. It bridges the melancholic harmonies of classical music, the electronic beats that captivate the body, and the sounds of Asia Minor that carry the memory of exile and the joy of folk dance.

Vocals, the Armenian flute, the Greek baglama, piano, and electronic instruments come together, jostle, and blend. Between modal improvisation, soaring soundscapes, hypnotic rhythms, and piano passages inspired by Russian Romanticism, the music flows like an organic, cyclical breath, in constant tension between gentleness and trance.

OP.16 is the momentum of a wheel’s circular motion, the nostalgia of a voice from Izmir, the vibration of a Bechstein piano, the freedom to break the rules of the classical conservatory, the warmth of a tsifteteli, and the energy of a partygoer in the dead of night.
