Dynamite Shakers

Dynamite Shakers—the name suits them so well. Their debut album, *Don’t Be Boring* (PIAS), was released in 2024. It’s raw, untamed rock ’n’ roll, recorded with the whole band in the same room, always in the spirit of Sun Records. And for the Dynamite Shakers, performing live is non-negotiable. It’s vital. Playing every day, playing over and over again—that could be their motto. They already have 400 shows under their belt!

When the four of them talk about music, it flows, it vibrates. Gun Club, The Fleshtones, The Cramps, Sonic Youth, Johnny Thunders, The Sonics, Pixies—the names keep coming, and you can sense in them an insatiable appetite, a burning desire to write the next chapter of the story. Originality in rock is a myth. It’s not about being absolutely innovative, but about being sincere, passionate, and generous. Drawing from the past—already knowing it—to better shape the present, and even the future. To be—fully, intensely. To their abrasive early rock, they’ve added organs, Farfisa, piano, synths, and other soundscapes… They’re opening up, experimenting, exploring.

With “Marilyn,” their new album released on August 28, they’ve chosen to slow down the tempo here and there. Their musical world has gained in diversity, intensity, and mystery. And now, their relationship with the stage? They see themselves playing at campgrounds again, their heads full of hope and dreams. Performing one day in Paris, in iconic venues. Recording their own albums. They’re here. They know they’ve been lucky. They know they’ve worked hard. They’re well aware that there’s still a long way to go and that they’ll have to give it their all. They don’t ask for anything else. And so much for the campgrounds.
