In just two albums (Olympic, released in 2016, then Joshua in 2019), French 79 has succeeded in writing a new page in the French Touch, one that is the envy of the world.
The Marseilles-based producer's flagship tracks, "Between the Buttons", "Diamond Veins" (now an export platinum single) and "Hometown", have helped to outline the contours of a new musical universe, drawing its roots from Erik Satie and Jean-Michel Jarre, then Air and Daft Punk, to usher in a new era.©DR
Since Charles, an Anglophile pseudonym for a very French project: Charles Sinz, singer and sole musician, on synths, machines and guitar. With its loving electro-pop lyrics and nostalgic influences, Since Charles evokes Etienne Daho as much as Flavien Berger, Mount Kimbie as much as Metronomy, new wave as much as electronica. Lyrically, he wields French to bear witness to snippets of passionate memories, urban encounters and nightlife. His voice is inspired, poised and just right, somewhere between indie-pop and futuristic soul.
