Danyl

Danyl is Franco-Algerian and draws on raï sounds to craft his musical world. A self-taught songwriter, composer, and beatmaker, he began producing music for himself and others at a very young age. Inspired by his dual cultural background and the modernity of his era, his relentless hard work led him to launch his channel on Twitch.

Every Sunday, he hosts a session lasting several hours during which he composes tracks live, which he then releases on streaming platforms under the name Khedma (meaning “work” in Arabic). His tracks and videos quickly racked up millions of streams. Within a few months, and with only a handful of tracks released, Danyl was filling large venues and releasing his debut album: ZMIG.

ZS

ZS – those are his initials, but they also stand for a method: zigzagging, slaloming.

He doesn’t sugar-coat what he says. He writes in mirror writing: texts that speak as we speak, that resonate like a face-to-face conversation, that ask questions without always providing answers. ‘I want to jump out of the window.’ ‘My life’s been a bloodbath ever since I learnt to say the word “yes”.’ Lines that strike where it hurts. And they never miss their mark.

On stage, ZS creates a sensation. A blank canvas: him, the audience. He performs, he unites. The energy is raw and direct. People don’t just come to see a gig: they come to experience a moment. And that’s where the tension builds: raw lyrics, a radiant performance. The two coexist, balancing each other out.

Musically, he draws on the legacy of Orelsan and Stromae for his storytelling and the power of his words. But his energy and his freedom on stage are reminiscent of Childish Gambino.

Winner of the Jury Prize at the iNOUïS du Printemps de Bourges 2026, supported by the Variations programme. Recognition has come, and with it, the gigs.

What’s next? That’s being written right now.
